Northstar Dental Care is offering patients a new way to align their teeth through Invisalign clear braces. These revolutionary clear aligners reshape the teeth without the need for traditional braces, wires, or brackets. The Invisalign process is extremely popular, with millions of annual users.
Invisalign braces are an alternative to traditional braces and can treat long-term dental issues like overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, overcrowded teeth, and gaps in the teeth. Ensuring that these dental problems is crucial, as they pose long-term complications like trouble chewing, increased tooth wear or decay, speech issues, inability to clean the teeth properly, bone loss, lose teeth, leading to more extensive/expensive dental treatments.
“The alignment of the teeth is extremely important when looking to achieve a healthy smile,” said Dr. Marwan Bassil, the primary dentist at Northstar Dental Care. “Without the use of Invisalign or traditional braces, small orthodontic issues can become larger over time and lead to serious and costly dental complications.”
Invisalign braces set themselves apart from traditional braces in several ways. The clear, retainer-like nature of the aligners provide a very subtle appearance, making them ideal for both teenagers and adults; and allows for more confident users. The aligners are also removable, allowing for wearers to remove their aligners to eat, brush and floss their teeth. This makes the realignment process easier on the patient, making the process of cleaning the teeth effortless and removing the worry of certain foods getting caught in the wires of traditional braces, or flossing around wires of traditional braces.
Invisalign also offers an entirely personal fit, with each clear aligner being made specifically for each individual patient. This helps eliminate any unnecessary pain associated with wire tightening and traditional braces. Tooth movement is also more predictable with Invisalign, as the clear aligners given to the patient allow for incremental tooth movement, consistent with each aligner throughout the Invisalign process.
To receive Invisalign treatment, Dr. Bassil, Northstar Dental Care’s INVISALIGN certified dentist, will work with the patient to create custom aligners using 3D imagery. The patient will receive a new retainer every two weeks, slowly shaping the teeth into the desired final alignment. Patients receiving Invisalign treatment will also receive follow-up appointments with Dr. Bassil every six to eight weeks to ensure that the journey to a perfect smile progresses as planned.
“The Invisalign process allows for an extremely reliable alignment process,” continued Dr. Bassil, “Each aligner makes small changes to the teeth, ensuring that the prescribed finished product is achieved in a way that we can monitor and keep close track of.”
Total treatment time varies from patient to patient but typically lasts 7 to 15 months, using a total of 14 to 30 removable aligners throughout the process. The cost of the Invisalign process is comparable or less expensive to that of traditional braces, and it is covered by insurance if the patient has orthodontic coverage, in ways matching that of traditional braces.
